Camshaft Position Sensor Difference ( oil into wiring harness)

Gents,

I have not read M276.8** 3.0 Turbo family of engine having the oil in engine wiring harness issue....yet and now they are oldest at 10 years old.
Today me was looking into my 10th year rejuvenation program and was thinking why my engine family , I googled, yet I have not find any one reporting oil in wiring harness due to the Cam Pos Sensor.

So I looked deeper into the parts number and discovered there is a DIFFERENCE of P/N and physical dimension too.

M276.9 3.5NA , M278 and M157, all shared the same P/N history or revision. Latest sensor is A276 905 11 00 , 5th revision as latest is A276 905 10 00

M157

M278

M276.9 3.5NA

M276.820 3.0 Turbo 329HP

.
M276.823 3.0 Turbo 362HP

.
This is the difference :

My EPC is of 2018. I do not see A276 905 10 00 as seen on AutoHausAZ for M276.9 , M278 and M157.
So I look at the official MB dealer website, theirs should be linked to MB USA latest P/N.

Indeed, the latest number is A276 905 10 00. Holy Cow, 5th revision ????

.

I hope my Cam Pos Sensor would not leak oil into its harness. I do frequent check though.
Hope this information is good for some.

My copy of the EPC is 09/2018 (4.8.0.0). The latest part number for the CPS is A-276-905-10-00. Try entering my VIN or FIN number in your WIS and see what comes up.

Aha, I know where I made my mistake on 5th revision.

Our EPC is the same data for the cam pos sensor, but mine is 5 months older than yours.

================

Ok here is where my eyes went bad again.

M157 and M278 counting latest P/N as per MB dealer website, would be make xxx 10 00 as 5th revision.
M276.9 never started with first version xxx 00 28, but jumped to 2nd revision as its first P/N in use, the xxx 01 43

.

Anyhow, A276 905 10 00 is the final 5th revision for now.... based on M278 / M157 using MB dealer's latest EPC, but not on my April 2018 EPC which is probably not new enough

Actually, if you want to be more confused, the last REVISION is the 4th revision because the first part number was NOT a revision, it was just the first part number.
