No Sound from Comand -Ring Break Position 1

No Sound from Comand -Ring Break Position 1
In a new to me 2013 E350 I have no sound coming from Comand. I can toggle the mute on and off, so that's not it. I ran the diagnostic menus and scanned it with a basic scanner. Stored and current code is D0 18 "MOST communication has a malfunction (ring break at position 1).
Now what? Any insight into what position 1 is or is it not that easy? I have 518 Universal Media Interface module in my data card, along with SAT receiver, neither of which I'll ever use. I think I just need a signal between the amp and the head unit to get sound. Can I put a fiber optic loop in the media interface module and SAT receiver to take them out of the equation?

Not long ago I was interested in coding out the useless DVD with my cReader... so I looked around COMAND for the device map...
Let me try to locate my pics to point you to Device_1. (Device_0 being the head itself).

Does your car has any of the premium sound systems (bang & olufsen or harman kardon)? I think they both uses the MOST network to connect the audio signal from the head unit to their respective amp. I have no idea however if the fiber optic cables that make-ou the MOST network are repairable.

Thank you for this. I believe UCI in Position 1 refers to the Media Interface Module. Let me try putting a loop in that position and with any luck I'll get sound.
Can I ask what scanner you're using? I'm using a Foxwell NT644 you seem to be getting more info. I also don't think I can code anything.

I have the portrait model and now a Landscape version has been released running the exact same Benz database.
It's a $150 unit running a fast version of customized Android with touch screen.
