You're joking, right? You perform your most critical maintenance function based on an alert from the car? How often does the maintenance meter have you change the oil? I've never used it.

FSS on cars usually give 13,000 oil change intervals. I had the same 3.2 engines in SUV, who was used for heavy trailers towing as well as in sedan, who was carrying just people.
Both FSS would give me the same 13k intervals, but lab tests proved, that the oil still had lot of life left after 13k miles.
Bare in mind FSS was originally programmed for dino oils.
Sprinters do have bigger oil pans and the interval is 20,000 miles/2 years.

I cannot remember when last oil change was and the stickers just tell you when to have it done again but are not based on the 10k or 12 month MB says for my car so yeah I go by the service indicator.
What is wrong with it?
It notes the date and the mileage at reset and tells you when 10k miles hits or 1 yr (my case) whichever comes first.
If you change your oil sooner - Thanks my oil company stocks appreciate it
