I am trying to get the correct part number for the basic carrier bars for my W212. Here is the sequence for my dilemma:
When I enter the VIN in official MB parts site, it gives me the following: 213-890-06-93.
Since 2016 is the last year of W212 and thinking that the first three digits are associated with the model number, I wanted to test the part number by entering 2015 E350 Sedan as the search criteria (2014, 2015, and 2016 all have the same body). This time I get 212-890-03-93 and it is discontinued.
Then I called the parts department at a local MB dealer and gave them my VIN's last eight, he said that there is no such part available for my car (possibly discontinued) and he could not confirm if the 213-890-06-03 would fit on my car.
Does anybody have any experience with this situation? Would 213-890-06-03 fit my 2016 W212 Sedan?
Can't directly answer your question but I can testify that if your roof has 4 little doors that flip open to reveal 2 screw sockets under each door then Yakima makes a very tidy system for your car. I had/have their stuff on pretty much every automobile roof I have or had. Put the aerodynamic rack on your roof and you'll barely hear it. Round bars will be louder.
