Steering angle reset/calibration

Hi !
I have had the steering rack dismantled and re-installed again, after re-installing i have error code on esp etc. i might have rotated the steeringwheel one turn prior to re-installation.
Is the solution to reset or calibrate the steering angle sensor to fix this, and do i need to do this with Star diagnose ?

You can read the steering angle in SCModule with a LAUNCH cReader and many others... from there turn the column to match the rack center.

Double check you steering "clock spring" did not suffer being 360° off.

Then reset ESP and scan fresh faults.

W212 with electric racks use the steering info to help hold center at highway speed.
If steering feels a bit light and unstable similar to toed-out... the solderless SCM is sleeping on the job.

I have not had the steering wheel itself off the column ant the steeringwheel is centered when driving straight, so the orentation in regards to the clock should be good, so i guess it it just to reset the sensor then ?

I kind of understood the steering column position was offset by one turn... +/- 1 Turn 360° is a big deal.

-- Maybe not even reset the SCM because you reassembled everything as it was originally.

-- Reset ESP faults: yes!

-- Test all your steering functions are working as intended after repair. You don't want unexpected goofy surprises.
Scan for all related faults.

nothing needs to be reset

The W212 FL chassis does not loose any settings during a sanity reboot or extended winter storage disconnect.

Different chassis may suffer amnesia when batteries are disconnected.

Good scanners are useful to diagnose and reset modules.
