Reprogram spare key after battery change
Mercedes C207 w212 2011 e class coupe
Needed to use my spare key which I know worked 3 years ago. Key does not work at all.

Changed Key battery same issue.
Does any one know how I can reprogram the key. TIA

Programming key registration is a licensed locksmith job that requires expensive tools.

x2 on MB keys of last 20 years not being user-programmable.
In old cars, inserting key into ignition with switch to ON (no engine run) did work, so I guess it would not hurt to try, but don't hold your breath.
What country? In USA they are about 2 indies, who can handle key repair, when MB USA will force you to buy new key (who in most cases is not available due to Covid)
Do you get any light with new battery?
