Mercedes E 250 2010
Gearbox CHange

I have decided to change gearbox of my E250 , 2010 model, which almost damaged due to coolant and fluid mixed issue. serial number rin my gear box is R 2202711901.If I buy a used gearbox for the same E class, 2010 model with another serial number, will it fit my Mercedes or not?

It will work only if the replacement is SCN coded to your car by your local MB expert or remotely by @BenzNinja services.

If 722.9 which is 7 speed

Keep in mind that unlike the earlier 722.6, the TCU is integrated into the conductor plate and is VIN-coded to your personal vehicle; a replacement will require coding by a Mercedes-Benz specialist or dealer if you decide to avoid having the original unit rebuilt, or the transmission will be inoperable.

in the link you have provided, my e250 2010 is not listed in 722.9, E250 they mentioned only from 2014 to 2016, when I checked with my VIN, I got the transmission type is 722618 07 856667, so my car is with 722.6 transmission ?

Perhaps you have a chance it will work wirh external TCU. Read further about 722.6 under W211 chassis

Maybe because of smaller engine size E250 is, they still uses 5 speed.
My fried C200 W204 of 2010 uses 5 speed too.

If your VIN indicated 722.6 tranny, that means it is 5 speed.

W212 (212.065/276.820)
I think that even without changing the TCU you will need to redo the shift and TC adaptations using Xentry or similar tool for your car to run properly afterwards.
