If this has been addressed, please forgive me. I scrolled through thread after thread and didn't see a post about it.

This past autumn (2023), the subframe on my 2013 E350 4Matic sedan (w212) rusted through and broke on the driver's side. I took it to my local dealer, Astorg MB in Charleston, WV. Instead of gouging me, the service writer advised me that MERCEDES BENZ IS NOW COVERING SEVERE SUBFRAME RUST AND RUST THROUGH BREAKAGE UNDER WARRANTY REGARDLESS OF MILES AS LONG AS THE CAR IS 20 YEARS OLD OR NEWER WITH NO DEDUCTIBLE OR COPAY. To my knowledge, it is all models made by MB. I just wanted to post this in hopes it helps someone who was in the same situation I was in. They ended up replacing both sides of the subframe. They will not, however, cover damage caused by the issue (worn tires, etc.). I was told that it would have been close to $6,000 to $7,000 to repair it out of pocket. Thank you, MB!

All, I had my 2010 E 350 4 matic with 150 K on the odometer for an oil change. They told me the frame is rusted. I’m looking for the extended warranty that covers subframes.

MB has an extended warranty covering the rusted subframes on all models 20 years old or newer. I believe there is no limit on miles. They fixed my 2010 E350 4Matic with 173,000 miles in August of 2023. Cost me nothing. If they have a loaner program and you need that, you will probably go on a wait list. But if you can live without the loaner , your car will be fixed faster. Mine was in the MB dealer garage for 2 weeks. Hope this helps you.

 

Thanks for the update. I called MB of Lancaster Pa. they have me scheduled for January 27th with a loaner. The service manager also stated it would only take a couple of days if the part is in inventory. If not maybe a week.
