Cleaning inside of radiator + heater core + aftercooler

Gents,

I am experimenting cleaning my HVAC heater core, so that I have more experience when I tackle radiator, engine block and my aftercooler's radiator and its air-to-water box.
The heater core will be by-passed and de-comissioned, so it is good that I use it as practice hardware.

MB Indonesia assembled this car with F*UK-UP water quality and not enough coolant %. In 2014 it was still using the yellow coolant.
I paid the damage from such poor water quality as early as 5th year car age, in 2019.
The story is here : https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...i-am-sure.html

Now, 5 years since this car has received good distilled water and proper 50% coolant concentration, I am still "paying" the sin of MB Indonesia.

12V 9 amps running, water pump for boat's or RV freshwater pump. This type : http://www.seaflo.com/en-us/product/detail/608.html

.
The plumbing. What used to be INLET to heater core, I make it OUTLET. So I reverse flow it.

The dirt/crust/calcium/slime & yada yada............

.

The slime

Above is approx pump running stop and go for 90 minutes.
The 12V DC pump is not continuous duty, I keep it maximum running 15 minutes at a time.

I am still waiting for a true 5 micron water filter housing and filter cartridge, maybe 2 more days it will arrive.
For now I use those white aquarium filter bed material as filter.

Stages :
- Push out old coolant using distilled water.
- 1st circulation filtering with distilled water and Simple Green cleaner
- Flush with tap water , 3x
- 2nd circulation filtering with distilled water again and Simple Green cleaner.
- flush with tap water,. 2x.
In between circulation and flushing, I use pressurized air while heater core is 1/2 filled with water. That is how I can get a lot of those dirt,
the sudden jet effect of water pushed by gushing air, kicking the debris.

Now heater core has very little water, as I pushed water out using pressurized air. I think left over 15-20% only. I can not dry it 100%.
I shall wait 12 hours to let more dirt/calcium/yada yada to fall off.

Will report more soon....................

Aftercooler cleaned already. It is the cleanest of all. Must be due to never high temperature enough.

Radiator cleaning, I posted it at the wrong thread ...LOL , this one : https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post8967648

ENGINE BLOCK CLEANING..........

Filter is pressure/output side of the circulation pump. Water is injected into Bank 2 rear azz, where HVAC heater core get hot coolant.

Mechanical water pump INPUT is now OUTPUT

.
With fresh water...........

With Simple Green cleaner

The dirt/debris/calcium from engine block.
