P001885 code advice
My 2012 E350 4Matic has been down for a few months. We’ve just finished replacing the wiring harness, downstream O2 sensors, crank position sensor, cam position sensors, cam magnets, one injector, air/oil separator, brake vacuum pump, and deleted the oil solenoid connection. Whew. It’s running great but I’m now getting the P001885 code.
I plan on switching cam magnets to see if the problem is with the new magnet I installed. On the oft chance the magnet isn’t the problem, could the adjuster be affected by not running the car? I change the oil roughly every 5K so I don’t believe it is sludged up.

This is a good collection of maintenance parts
Add your secondary chain tensioners accessed from the engine front. No need to open camshaft covers or remove injectors.
What's your current mileage?
Did you swap HPFP/Roller?

It has 167k miles on it. I never had a check engine light or any significant issues until I found: oil in the harness, oil leaking at the vacuum pump, and oil in the intake, as well as a split front cv boot — at essentially the same time. Hopefully everything is addressed now. Unfortunately, I didn’t think of the roller. I only put in a new o ring.

Your oil pump solenoid and "Approved 5w40" will help cancel the source of abnormal heat. Some people install pig-tail harness extension to preserve their precious harness from $10k repair job.
- As far as HPFP + Roller: at 160KMi you may need the pair.
- The hard to move pump plunger waste the roller needle bearing that then proceeds to reshape its cam lobes flat.
- The roller is tough but gets wasted when pump acts up.
No rush, listen for noise.
