Alternative oil brand MB229.5 - API SP
Guys,
2 weeks ago I was at one of MB Indonesia biggest distributor, getting spare parts.
I saw lots of Ravenol oil in their inventory.
So I googled and good thing they have local Indonesian representative.
As per MB oil list
IN US Market. MB229.5 API - SP
In my market, I can only get 1 type available, but out of stock at this moment. Cost only US$5 per liter more than Mobil 1 OW40 tripple action, the MB229.5 API-SP
.....
Data sheet comparison
.
I want to try this oil for next oil change. Probably Jan 2025. Now my oil is approx 60 ish days old and under 500KM.
No Motul with approval MB229.5 and API SP, locally available from Motul local rep.

PREMIUM PAO WITH STABLE VISCOSITY
This will bring you solid long-lived viscosity from the PAO base oil. No use of short lived economical polymers.
I've just heard yesterday that Jakarta is nicknamed:
"The Big Durian city!" (like NY called "the big Apple") - Is that true?

I have not heard of the Durian nickname. Thailand is very very big on Durian fruit.

Walmart brand Super Tech oil is API SP rated. But no 0W-40 or 5W-40. ![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

But Walmart does have 10W-40 (synthetic blend) and 20W-50 (conventional) oils that are API SP rated. But notice they are not ILSAC GF-6A rated. (Also, there is no MB specification 229.5). So, folks need to read the entire label.
