I would like to lower my 2010 e350 RWD about 2".
My mechanic says that anything more than an inch will have a serious impact on tire wear and alignment.
I would appreciate opinions on this.

Thanks

the camber will be negative so the inside will wear out faster. However I always loweerd all my cars and the tires usually last for 50k kms for me. Its enough compromise for me

If you lower, look for Kmac camber/caster kits to achieve proper alignment specs.

Thanks for the response.
I'm surprised at the cost of Kmac kits.
Do you know of any more inexpensive options?

Pardon my ignorance but why do some camber kits consist of adjustable bushings (such as the Kmac kit) and some consist of just bolts/nuts and a washer/ shim looking item (at a considerably less cost)?

The bolt/washer you are referring to are commonly known as ‘crash bolts’, and are used to try to reach factory spec if the car has been in a crash, and the frame/suspension repair has been ‘less than perfect’.

The kits with offset bushings are designed to have far more adjustment, and typically have updated bushings for longer life.

In this game you have to pay to play. I cant remember a single time in my life thinking ‘gee, I wish I bought the one that wasn’t as good as this one’.
