Fan noise? Chirp? Odd noise that is related to AC and speed/braking (video)
I've had my 2012 E550 for a couple months now and it has always had this noise. It's minor, but noticeable enough that it drives my wife crazy. The AC or fans have to be on - at least the lowest setting, but it's more prevalent at higher fan settings. It also changes when a brake or accelerate. I've attached a video - the chirp/squeak noise is not an artifact of the video - that's the noise. It's also independent of the radio, so I don't think it's feedback or anything.
In the video, you can hear me braking and accelerating and can hear how the noise changes.
Anyone have any idea what this might be or how to remedy it?
URL to video on Flickr is below (DON'T CLICK ON THE LINK - COPY AND PASTE IT). Note that the hyperlink won't work because the forum tries to embed it (unsuccessfully) and just a non-hyperlink, the forum detects it and tries to... embed it! So you will need to copy and paste the link below to see the video. Sorry.

Car has 118K miles on it. belts, tensioners and idlers were replaced 25K miles ago. Even so, this doesn't sound like that.

It's the blower motor under the glove box. My 2012 140k mi was doing it when I bought the car. I pulled it out and half-a** cleaned it, got about 6-7 months before the noise came back again. About $400 to replace with OEM or $150 aftermarket from FCP Euro.

Agreed - it’s the interior ventilation fan. Easy enough to DIY in less than 30 minutes.

Thank you!
That was it:
I think BEHR makes the OEM one. A new one of that brand is $130 from RockAuto. I think I'll go for that - doesn't seem much more difficult to replace than doing the cabin air filter, really...
