I got an issue with my 15 E400 that i can’t get fixed (involving the transmission)
A mobile mechanic would be preferred since the car does not start…

that is extremely specific that it might take a while to materialize to help.

If this is related to ISM Gearbox shifter... then call an MB shop that can PROGRAM THE PARTS YOU NEED using Mercedes Xentry on-line SCN.
This repair might not add up cheap but will get done right the first time.

I know it’s a very specific request, but it’s a very specific and weird issue

Already got the conductor plate reprogrammed, it was very hard to find someone that could work in a VGS4 plate, had to sent both plates to WA
But the car still does not recognize gear (P/R/N/D) and it’s not able to start…
Talked to the company that programmed the plate and they’re willing to give me a refund, but i’m not confident yet if it’s their fault
I’m getting these trouble codes:
P1629- CP48(Fully integrated transmission control unit) is defective
P1630- CP48(Fully integrated transmission control unit) is defective
With ignition on, P/R/N or D should be highlighted, it’s not.
Everything indicates that the conductor plate was not programmed or not programmed correctly, but it’s important to know that this transmission blew while in the highway, soon after turned it off, it wouldn’t start again and the gear would not show in the instrument panel, just like is happening right now. So that could mean that an error in the original conductor plate was transferred to the donor plate with the reprogramming? If so, is there anyway to correct this?

this suggest a bad CAN bus connection = luck!
Here: if only your tranny was bad, you would not get this message.
Conversely this bad CAN message hints that your tranny and a bunch of other modules are not "connected" .
Give us a complete chassis scan so we can see thr whole network... there's a bad guy in there... i don't think it's your tranny -
That may be your luck to find a shorted pair of wires for free.

TROUBLESHOOTING:
- Turn IGN ON (engine off)
- Depress brake pedal
- Shift out of P into N and back to P
- Did you hear clunking under the car ??
--> If not then : scan your chassis for chance of quick fix.
--> if yes then: ISM CAN-C is working and likely TCU should respond as well.

Should have mentioned that the car doesn’t start for more than 3 months while i was waiting for parts, with that the battery was very low when i took the picture, had a lot of codes i wasn’t considering… Cleared the codes and replaced the battery, codes didn’t came back
I don’t have a very good scanner, much less a star diagnostic tool, but ill leave a couple of pictures of the codes read initially with my autel
Battery Voltage displayed on top right corner
Should as well have mentioned that, yes i can hear the transmission shifting, or better, trying to shift since is a longer sound than when would normally do. I performed the “range sensor teach-in” function and completed with no issues, like the car and the diagnostic tool were recognizing the shifts.
When shift from P or N to D or R, instrument panel informs that P or N should be engaged to start the car, but still, none of the gears would be highlighted

More good news: you canot expect any module to be reliable on 6V power.
To diagnose your going to need a decent voltage above 12V min.
Under 10V the network goes sideways... untrustworthy.
Disconnect all power
then reconnect to a good 12V power
reset codes
rescan fresh faults
Also I need to know what module flags "no connection to gateway".
We need to know what module calls what fault... not just an A to z alphabetical list.
BESIDES you can easily use this scanner to connect with the TCU for interactive status and live tests.
That will help understand what happening and not happening.
