LED Replacement?

Hoping this is the right place to ask but I have a 2002 E-Class Merc (WDD2120052A805098) and the front right, driver side (Ireland), light has gone and I am looking to replace.

It looks like the light is an LED light on the far left, looking at it face on, of the assembly.

Some mechanics have suggested that its a big job to remove and that it might need a complete replacement and might not be user-serviceable but looking for advice from anyone in a similar position.

Any help would be really appreciated just to even know what is possible. VIN lookup here doesn't seem to work but this does https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/check...120052A805098#

busted HL

This is not user friendly job because LED chip needs to be coded to the HL module that itself is coded to the car.

Oh right. I wasn't expecting that from a ten year old car. So no way to get around having it taken to a dealer? Seems like a terrible design to not allow lights to be replaced.

Your car is 2014 and is equipped with Static Led Headligts. Those headlights can be found very cheap as aftermarket or even Second Hand.

Also, if you are talking about main beam, the LED responsible is driven by a control unit installed under the headlight, where usually the water can damage the electronics, if the fuse is OK.

You can try step by step, fuse, diagnose with a scanner, etc.

I had assumed, from a fuse perspective, that if the right hand side was affected then the left hand side would be too, but you are saying they are independently fused? I will get a photo of the headlight and post soon to point out the broken LED and make sure I am detailing it properly.

Really appreciate the response.
