E Class E350 W212
Some things i have been told...
1.there is a small oil pump below the turbo that is prone to leaking.
2.The DPF is clogged. But i do not have an engine light on
3.the exhaust system has a hole/leak and this can allow fumes to find their way into the cabin
4.Cabin filter....which i have had changed
5. Engine Oil cooler....
I dont really know which way to go and would like some guidance.
Thank you

Make sure the engine bay battery cover is installed properly else it wont seal. Cabin air depends on that cover being sealed well.
Open the engine hood and look near firewall on passenger side... that big black box with snaps.

it may stick to the hood metal at some places, and it may have been taking of its place while opening the hood creating an air/fumes leak

1. You car has no turbo.
2. DPF is for diesel cars.
3. Are you smelling raw gasoline or exhaust fumes?
4. Cabin filters are for outside air, not engine compartment air.
5. Engine oil cooler? Leak?
You need to find other mechanics. They all sound like idiots, especially the first two.

2. I know. Mine is a diesel
3. exhaust fumes. i have noticed it only becomes apparent after a few miles of driving. Also, i had the car at the mechanics and he said your power steering fluid res was empty. He was confused as to where the fluid had disappeared to.
4. Understood
5. perhaps. I have had it looked at but nothing concrete.
