@w212_E400s if you want I can get the parts list from my rear bumper and exhaust tips. I suspect only the botton trim is different.

MB is all about options, I guess you can call that freedom : ) , nice vehicle by the way : ) classy.

Well, ride quality is arbitrary, the luxury is old school Benz, luxury first, for a long highway ride it floats wonderfully, handling is still great but way less firm and more body roll, my sport can walk away from it on medium to fast speed twisty roads, you can clearly drive it harder and faster.

If I recalled correctly (not sure if accurate), there are three types for the W212, Airmatic, standard steel and sporty steel with active dampers. Like I said, I am not fully sure if that was really the case plus if it was, it is different in different regions, I am in Canada for example.

You are on point sir. Confort suspension is the only one Mercedes offers in Brazil for the non-AMG models. A wise choice given the conditions of our roads to be honest.

I wish they offer it in all markets, unless they decided it is not popular enough to be worth offering it?

I reckon certification costs vs. market analysis probably plays a big role on what they decide to offer on each market. I mean, all radar functions in Brazil (such as distronic plus) were unavailable until not long ago due to certification issues with the local equivalent of FCC. I think you can really only customize everything if you are in Germany.

Actually, the 212 Wagon has steel suspension up front & airmatic in rear which is self adjusting for cargo weight. Had it in my 2001 E320 Wagon & now on my 2011, last of the port injection 350s.

Suspension on 212 E 4Matic Wagons

Actually, the 212 E4Matic Wagon only comes with mixed suspension: Steel Springs up front & self-
leveling Airmatic in rear which adjusts the weight so Cargo bed remains level.

that goes all the way back to the W123 wagons of the 1980s, except it was hydropneumatic rather than airmatic in back.

Avantgarde is a term for sports model. I have one from 2010.

Avantgarde has rectangular exhaust tips, luxury has oval ones.

Yes, confirming oval exhaust tips on my E350 Wagon (2011), which was the last port injection
3.5 V6. Motors were converted to DI (Direct Injection) in 2012 with carbon soot build-up issues.

Glad to know the carbon build-up isn't just me, and it's not a sign of excessive blowby or something...

I'm going to experiment with cleaning that crap off this weekend...

The M276 isn't nearly as bad in terms of DI engines for carbon buildup compared to some of the BMW and VAG engines (and Hyundai/Kia, but who cares about those).
