Help! Backup Camera quit working

I put my car in reverse and all I get are multicolored vertical lines along with the backup lines.

Any ideas before I take it in?

Thanks.

there are mutiple types of w212 RFK's with external or built-in CAN - Failure is likely caused by shock vibrations of trunk lid.

Can you reset fault to see if it comes back to life??

As shown above, RFK has a difficulties networking on extra long lines.
It's loaded with bugs straight from factory.

And be gentle as a butterfly on that trunk, when closing and opening.

Thanks. So, the camera has begun working again. However, I was not able to pull codes. My code reader is an older model, so I might ask for a recommendation for one that works well with my MB.

I suppose I can expect a buggy camera until I can get it fixed.

Camera is buggy from factory but regardless it still does show video on head display.

Don't be only focussed on the camera module....
You may find that the CAN-B is so slow that the camera data streaming over shared network gets delayed.

In other words: scan the whole chassis looking for what is busting your CAN-B.

Refrain from replacing RFK without result.

Do a simple "REBOOT" and enjoy temporary improvements.
Clear faulty modules : Keyless, DCU's,...

"LAUNCH CREADER MB ELITE" (~$130) are the handheld scanners we enjoy using.

+++ SUMMARY...
RFK is buggy but working
Slow chassis CAN-B is No1 suspect
Full chassis scan will provide status
