Splash Shield question E350 2009

Hello, the front engine splash shield dropped down at the front part about an inch or more where it connects to the the front bumper while my wife was alone driving the car. She had a mechanic push it back in place and he said it did not need any "clips" to keep the front of the splash shield connected to the vehicle. The 3 rear connectors were still attached. After about a hundred miles of driving the splash shield dropped down again about 1 inch or more. While driving it then causes a massive wind noise and if not taped up may break? My wife taped up the front of the shield to the the bumper and drove home 2 more hours. My wife did not think she struck anything while driving. Does anyone have a diagram of this splash shield and how does it connect to the bottom of the front bumper? Is there a clip to keep if from dropping down at the front? I ordered an aftermarket replacement for cheap, $45.00. I dont have any jack stands/ramps and dont trust myself laying under the car to play with it. I will take it to my local repair shop that specializes in Mercedes to put the part in or maybe just add a clip. The strange thing all the after market suppliers state the oem Mercedes part # is 2115203923 When I check Mercedes OEM parts they state this shield wont fit my car but I must use part 21-520-25-23. This basically replaces several parts under the vehicle that I dont need for $450.00 instead of the their price of $145.00 for the front shield and part 2115203923. Any input is appreciated
