I have an engine heating device (DEFA) 230V residing on a coolant hose that works well but now a thought has crossed my mind.
My car has the REST function that, when pressed while the engine is off lets the remaining heat from the engine circulate and it also runs the interior fan on a low setting for app.20-30min the automatically shuts itself off.
My idea is to connect the incoming 230V (via a voltage converter down to 12v) to my auxiliary (REST) circulation pump so when i connect the cable to the car it not only heats the coolant but also circulates it around in the engine and radiator.
A nifty extra step would be if I could also make the car run the fan like the REST function does when cable connected.
Anyone who has done this or have a good idea on how to do this please chime in.
PS
I do have a CTEK trickle charger connected to the car when on cable.
