Hi, I recently acquired a 2016 E350. I am still learning, researching, doing things to improve, bring it back to ideal working condition. I did read through the DATACARD and user manual, but a little confused regarding options and capabilities of my car.
1. Does my car have Adaptive cruise (auto keep distance during cruising)? or this is only for car with DISTRONIC PLUS (I dont think my car has this option)
2. Does my car has AUTO high beam (high beam turn on an off automatically when cars approaching)??
3. This is just a thought: my car has regular Static LED light... if I wan to upgrade to ILS light, is it a direct plug and play? or wiring system is different and requires modification?. Also Does it need to be coded?. I dont really care about ILS function, just want to take advantage of the projectors. Can I install the ILS system without coding? will it still work?. the light beam pattern from the regular static LED is not very great.
4. One more question: My car has sport (AMG) package, is there a aftermarket FOG LIGHT option for the side vents? the pre facelifted version offered the foglight, but the facelifted deleted that.....
I would look thru the Operators manual in the glove box and see what it says for each of your questions. It should say how to use or activate the features if you do have them.
I did read through the whole manual. The manual was written for all W212, all models, options.... thats why I was confused and not sure what my car had
2016 E350 4Matic wagon, 2019 Ford Expedition, 2019 Chevy Bolt EV
yeah, adaptive cruise is "Distronic" in Mercedes-land.
The US version of sorta-ILS is what you're going to get, I don't think you can get the Euro version of ILS with simple feature coding. you should still have headlights that steer into turns, quite effective automatic highbeams, etc.
US Sport vs Luxury on the face-lift 212s was a trim package plus lowered/stiffer suspension and 18" vs 17" wheels. It also involved different interior trim colors, like my wife's Luxury has brown rather than black dash and steering wheel, etc.

1 - Your car is not equipped with any of the Distronic functions available for w212, nor Plus, nor Pro.
2 - The Auto High Beam ( IHC for Static Headlights - IHC+ for ILS Headlights ) is not present either. As your car is equipped with windshield camera, this function can be enabled by coding.
3 - ILS can be installed but only after adding some wires and of course after elaborate coding.
4 - I don't know about aftermarket installations but because your car is equipped with Static Headlights the Fog function is limited to the Rear. Only on ILS the Fog function redirect the spot light very low enabling short distance viewing.
For those of us with out full access...or want to know on the fly if a car has Distronic...look near the rear view mirror from the outside of the car....if there is one "triangle" area you do not, if there are two you probably do.

2. By any chance this can be coded/changed using the Launcher Creader I bought recently? or does it need to be Xentry/STAR?
3 & 4. adding wire and elaborate coding is out of question for me. I dont have the C4, C5 + cost of the the lights would be too much. I acquired this car from a family member, intended to be my project car, bring it back to optimum working condition (add some options too...hihi)

Some models can have Distronic ( Pro not Plus meaning without Steering assist) with just one camera or no camera at all.

It is kind of confusing from looking at the data sheet what your car is capable of. I looked thru it yesterday so its not fresh in my head. I remember seeing electronic steering, shift by wire and then P22 or 22P Track Package. Those options would make it seem like your car can change lanes and slow/speed up on its own.
Maybe the Distronic is the key. Which I dont see in your options.
Try it out though. See what the car does when you are cruising behind someone on the highway. *safely.
So, on my car with one triangle...I do have accident prevention, lane assist and some basic features. The car with two has the auto speed control (as part of cruise control). It will pretty much drive itself...it was an option in both cars (the car with one is an E63S). My other cars have one....if I am not mistaken, the lens looking things are for the wiper blade system. I very well could be wrong.
The other place to look is the center of the grill. Our cars with auto cruise control have large sensors (behind the Merdedes Star) in the grill.
Science tells us that two of the lenses/sensors are needed to triangulate distances and speed. The bumper sensors are for close range and parking stuff.

Thanks... I already tried it out, the car didnt slow down upon approaching other cars. I am still learning about this car, maybe I have not figured out how to use many of the options...
when I approach something fast, the car beeped warning, but so far it did not slow down by itself....
I sometimes experience that beep when on winding roads and there is a tree or mailbox at the curve in front of me. The only time I’ve had the car stop by itself is when I was using DISTRONIC PLUS.
Actually, there was another time in stand-still traffic that I was rolling forward and got too close to the car in front and the brakes did automatically apply themselves.
