Hello. I have a 2014 E 350 wagon, and the key fob only works very close to the driver's side door. Only a few times have I been able to stand in front of the car and press the unlock button on the key fob and successfully have the door unlock. In looking at other posts, I checked the fuses in the cargo area, and none are blown. Unfortunately, I only have one key fob. I did replace the battery with a fresh one, but still the same issue. I also checked the voltage on the main and aux battery, and they are good. Could the key fob itself be bad, or maybe the keyless entry antenna module?

This E 350 does not come with keyless go.

Any chance a to hook it up Xentry to check the codes ? It could be a bad key fob or it must be related to distance if only it works when very close to the door. Normally, those key fobs are very strong to be able to work a few blocks away almost . I would also recommend to open / close the door and relock the doors using the key fob . In my car, (keyless go ) , sometimes rectangular touch pads on the door handles seem not work . I open the door and close it when that happens using the key fob instead . After that , those touchpads serve neatly .

Despite the more simple version, keyless module reception suffers from a very limited range with all good batteries car + keyfob.

You'll best need to hire you local MB shop to deal with this trouble.
Likely solderless module + unstable CAN-B.

 

How is your radio reception?

Have you tried the Convenience Feature? (Uses IR instead of RF)

 

The only Convenience features I have are Easy entry/exit and Belt adjustment.

Also, the radio reception is good. I haven’t encountered any issues with poor radio reception.
