They do the same thing, but Vediamo does more. I find Diogenes faster and easier to use for simple tasks like this, I'm not sure why those warnings showed up in the way that it did in your case though. It's fairly new/incomplete, not recommended for variant coding since it can get stuff wrong. I hate the Vediamo experience, horrible file picker, irritating command text box...stuff like that
I ended up using Diogenes for the FW number and Vediamo for everything else. Looking back at the the process, I did exactly what your instructions said to do but just in Vediamo. Thank you for your write-up and help.

In Vediamo right click on ECU title ( ex: IC204_013......) and you can choose module information HW and all SW in just one click

Thanks, yes, Vediamo is not user friendly, which is why I've never attempted any modifications with it so far. I really want to enable ILS and there's some youtube tutorials to do so, but I haven't sat down and messed with it yet.
