TPMS MODULE

Where in the world is the module located, I can not find it anywhere. Ive looked near the rear axle under the car, behind the wheel well panels, in the trunks, under the floor board under the glove box. Have intermittent tire pressure module in inoperative error. Hella annoying, also got rotors and brake pads replaced in front and back, also new cv shafts and front lower control arms, and not only do i get the tire pressure module inoperative error, when it does work it only says tire pressure module active but I get no readings.

The TPMS Module is hosted outside in the wet over the rear passenger side axle (Bank1 side).

It's a well built module that could use silicon over harness penetrations. Networked over a long CAN-Bus line.

Its software is pretty wacky but it eventually it does its job. Most issues are expected from wheel sensors or module interfacing with sensors.

Use scanner TPMS live data stream before anything else.

Search TPMS from the link in my signature to get pictures

or look up EPC with your VIN to look at parts diagram

or work with your scanner to interact with module.

This is what is wrote here:
"Remove the rear passenger-side wheel
look around the top of axle area , about 1ft deep: do you spot your TPMS Module?"
Show me that pic, I'll point the little module if it's there.

you're right... tinyurl.com/MBenzFixes is broke
it points around the forums to a set of threads
I've got to see what's happening with tinyurl utility
*** see below ***
Try something else as a plan B.

If you can interact with it, the hardware is good else it may be swamped through the connector.

++++
Here is my signature link resolved.

Okay, I'll help you troubleshoot your TPMS

Go ahead use your scanner to collect module datastream.
What do your wheel sensors report ??

Without an MB scanner you could inspect the connector for green crusties but it is really time consuming to extract this module.

So I don't recommend rushing to do that.
Your call.

i have to say that it is an incredible pain in the d*** to get this module out. I got one bolt out before I said F-it and just plugged in the new/used module, to make sure it works before I attempt the second one.

You should always wear eye protection, but especially when removing the fender liner as a seemingly endless amount of dust and dirt comes out of it upon removal. If your module is ok, leave it. I wish mine were. You’ll see why in my next post. SMH
