Swapping out 2015 E400 calipers for 4 piston E550 calipers?

https://youtu.be/MJK7YP8rfpc?si=UXy3rD4AvDpiSmfy

I saw this video where someone installed CLS 550 4 piston brake calipers on a CLS 400 with the stock single piston calipers.

I really want to do this on my 2015 e400. Is it really just a direct swap from the single piston to the 4 piston? Obviously you need larger rotors but the brake lines and sensors all work the same?

I already have 19" wheels and the brake pads for it. Can I just get new rotors and calipers and swap it out? Anyone tried this or know what calipers are compatible?

@Black-w212 hmmmm this is the first I'm hearing of this, but it piques my interest. I just had an appt at an indy shop this past week, and they told me I still have 50-60% life left on both my front and rear pads, so I'm happy

For everyday driving with a bit of spirited driving now and then, I find my brakes on my 2015 E400 4MATIC sedan to be just fine. I will say, from the late-model Audi's from the 2020's that I have driven though, their braking performance seems a lot more powerful. Are you looking for stronger braking performance?

I will keep posted on this!

It doesnt necessarily improve stopping distance, the stock brakes are good enough to lock the wheels. I think tires matter more than brakes.

For me I just think it would be an awesome cosmetic upgrade. I want to paint them and put brembo stickers on them. Sort of like a budget big brake kit. My stock calipers are old and corroded.

I found a good deal on 360mm rotors and calipers for it. I might try it. It's supposed to be a direct bolt on replacement.

@Black-w212 I agree, I think it'd be a great budget big brake kit. What did you find for a price? (I'm in USD $)

Which tires are you using? Right now, I am running Yokohama Avid Ascend GT's for tires. They have great tread life, but their marks for handling could be better. When it's time for new tires, I am looking at the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus tires.

I bought my car with upgraded wheels and tires already on it. Oddly enough each tire is a different brand and it's a 4matic. The rear is 255/35 and the front is 235/35. The braking feels good but definitely feels front biased.

After aggressive driving on windy roads my stock brakes get really hot. I have slotted rotors on the front as well. I can smell them and feel the heat radiating from the wheels. Going from 322 to 360mm rotors might help with this.

I found a kit for sale locally for $300. New pads, 360 rotors, and used calipers. They're manufactured by brembo but are OEM mercedes. I haven't found a source for new calipers, you just have to find used ones.
