W212 no start no crank possible blind spot sensor?

Hi all. Newb here. Have a 2014 w212 e350. Been dealing with an electrical nightmare and dont know where to look. Started out with blind spot error (yellow triangle on passenger mirror. Pulled the rear r/s sensor and noticed corrosion. Couldn't get parts right away so I left it on the back burner and eventually one day months later, car wouldn't start. No crank, all kinds of error codes relating to canbus on multiple modules. Sometimes it would start and run but couldn't get out of park. Other times, would start, run, drive for a bit and all the warnig lights and guages bugging out and if I tried to put it in reverse from drive it went straight to park and i was stuck there. Other times, nothing again. Car sat for over a year with all different types of symptoms. MAGICALLY.....yesterday, I started the car wirh no issues.....AT ALL! Today, good as well. My question is could a corroded blind spot sensor/connector cause this? I never thought that could be the problem so I never unplugged it to see if it changed anything. Now that the car is working again, I wouldn't be able to tell. Thanks for any help I can get on this.

The short answer is... absolutely - You got it!

> The rear soaked side radar sensors run off of CAN-Bus B which happen to be the network of Keyless-G. This works authentications to be able to shift or not.

> You'll want to scan the whole set of network modules to confirm what faults are actively disrupting your chassis.

> Replace the soaked connectors on both sides. Until then a plastic bag will help. At some point you will need to match: wires - colors - positions during repairs.

Having done that you'll silicone each and every connector rear enyry where wires enter connector through the loose rubber seals.

Soaked MB electronics are non repearable - Replace only preventable ahead with silicon RTV therapy.

2014 - W212.065 - E400 ( M276.820, 3 liter Turbo) RWD not Hybrid
First corossion was causing a short circuit on the CAN data bus, overtime the corossion ate more metal and the short is gone as the metal is gone too aka open circuit, you then loose signal for the said module/s,
but you are not shorting them.....which is why its seems to get better

How old is your battery, and have you left it sitting idle for a full year?

Makes sense. I think that's what might have happened. 👍
