My Three BIG W213 Questions:

1. Is the Panorama Roof going to be standard or included in a package that most everyone wants, like a P-1 Package? I personally HATE the ugly, black glass roofs and hope I can get a loaded 213 without it.

2. Will the bigger engines and air suspensions be available in a "Luxury" trim model, AKA a traditional model with the three pointed star on TOP of the hood, where it belongs?

3. Will the car come with conventional tires, with a jack & spare in the trunk or will the E succumb to the same Run Flat Tire-No Jack-No Spare disease that has infected the S Class, and other models?

These are my three biggies. I'm expecting MB to strike out on all three, but am still holding out hope.

The cars in detroit only showed up with the sport package.

The E300 had 20" wheels with Goodyear F1 tires.

The E400 had 19" wheels with Pzeros

They hybrid had the lux grill, but I don't remember the tires. They were stretched though.

It was a weird lineup

the run flat tyres are an option in certain markets not sure if i saw that on the german site or the french site, whatever the case it means the car is built to live without them...I was specing an AMG model with the 19" AMG wheels and you actually had to tick the box for run flats.

1. It's an E-Class, so I assume the panorama roof is an option. Heck, in Europe even the regular moonroof is an option.
2. Of course...
3. In Europe, all run flats are a chargeable option and conventional tires are default (including for the S-Class, SL, etc.). But nobody gets a spare AFAIK...

I personally love panoramic roofs, but I agree that they shouldn't be standard equipment because many people still prefer the traditional roof of a vehicle.

Not sure how MB does it, but I have a Nissan Rogue with a panoramic roof. Really adds to the heat in the summer. First you have twice as much glass. Second, the inside cover is no more than a windowshade-zero insulation value. No matter how dark it is, it is glass.
