Surround camera?

I have a w212 now with the 360 cam.
I was never very impressed with it and actually only use the rear view.
(and the tire view a few times to make sure I didn't hit a curb)
The birds-eye view is a disaster as everything around the car is "distorted ".
I'm getting my w213 in a few months and the 360 cam is included in a package
(otherwise would not have gotten it again)
can anyone advise if there's a major improvement?
