Do the rear door pins sit flush with the panel while locked? I mean can the pins be used to unlock the door if needed?

Almost flush on mine.
But if you pull the handle once it will pop the pin up. Pull it the second time to open the door.

Can anyone please confirm that the OEM part number for the AMG door pins is 0007660228? And will these also work for the rears too? I called a couple dealerships and gave them my VIN for my 2017 GLE43W4 and was told:

Front AMG pins are 0007660228
Rear AMG pins are 0007660800

One dealership said all four pins are 0007660228. They stated removal was easily done by unscrewing the old pins. True?

I used part number A0007660800 for all 4 of mine. My dealer told me the same number as yours. I got mine from the below linked ebay listing.

Bummer,
This part is not compatible with 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE43 AMG Base Sport Utility 4-Door 3.0L 2996CC V6 GAS DOHC Turbocharged.

Anyone know if the 2 piece retrofit can be done on a 2013 GL63? The GLS appears to have these but I dont have access to my MB parts caralogue at the moment to check part numbers, can anyone help?
