I picked up my car on Nov 21st here in Toronto,Canada, now it has been 20days, I'd like to share some of my thoughts.
Firstly, some photos.
The reason why i chose the luxury trim is simply because of the look, i am a more traditional guy i think, i love the old mercedes grills and standing stars.
The sport or AMG trims are nice looking don't get me wrong, but in my opinion they just lack a bit "soul".
Also when I test drove the car, it was a sport trim car, I found the ride to be too choppy, and i don't believe in the reliability of the Air Body Control, the luxury trim has a more softly tuned suspension. And after 20 days of driving, i am very pleased with the ride comfort and handling.
The 2 litre 4 bangers are enough for basically every "normal" person, the car is perfectly acceptable for city commuting, passing on freeways is also not a problem. what it lacks is a little bit refinement, but I heard from my dealer that cars produced after Sep 20th, will all have a engine sound enhancer, when you put the drive mode into Sport Plus, i was shocked,it sounds so great, just like a straight 6 instead of a four cylinder. I know it is kind of a mocked sound, but anyways, you get better fuel economy, and lower MSRP.
Interior is the biggest reason i chose this E300 over an A6 or 535i,it is so elegant and well crafted, I chose the nut brown real leather with ash olive trim, works pretty well together in my mind.
Price wise, i am from Canada, CAD I paid all in was 87000, for a almost fully loaded version i can't complain.
I will keep you guys updated, just give me more time with it, lol.
If you have any basic questions, leave in the comment section, i will try my best to answer.
I was under the impression that you could communicate directly with your car via a cell phone for things such as remote parking pilot.
Only available in certain regions. Remote parking pilot is not available in Canada.
When you go to the Mercedes site that talks about this and other app based connections, the regions that have it available do not include Canada or USA.
