E300 Rattling / Creaking Noise from Door and Rear

Hello All,

I picked up E300 end of November. And I am getting Rattling / Creaking noise from the Door panels every now and then ... If I keep my hands of the Wooden panel on doors... sometimes it goes away but then even a minor bump or changing lanes and hitting reflector activates it.

And once the noise comes up... it stays on even on smooth roads. And from somewhere in the back of the car; I am getting another set of noise that I can't pinpoint where it's coming from.

Has anyone had the rattling/creaking issue so far on E300. Last time, I drove the Loaner the C-Series and it had lot of ratting noise too; I hope it's not going to be the same with E300's too; that I have to live with down the line.

I have an appointment today to drop it off at the Service center. I took one of the MB technician for the drive and he admitted that shouldn't happen on a New E-Class.

Thanks,

Manu.

yes! I have noise coming from my driver door arm rest area. If I use my elbow and push into the door panel arm rest, it goes away. Happens during bumpy roads. The second noise is coming from on, or around the passenger seat. I dont usually have anyone sitting with me in the car, so on bumpy roads, I can see the seat vibrating around and assume it is from that.

So after my car being at the Service centre for a week, they told me they fixed the door panel issue by refitting it and apparently I still hearing rattling and creaking noise from Door panels.

They told me they couldn't reproduce that rear noise issue ... the one shown in the video. So I drove around couple of blocks around dealership and recorded few more videos with rattling noise...

And I went back to Service centre with those video clips and Foreman came for a test drive with me and in the car he admitted he could hear it but when we went back he mentioned he didn't hear and he will Test Drive and see if he can reproduce it ...

So I asked them to give them a E-Class Loaner which are extremely hard to find. But this time they managed to give me E300 with 3800 Miles ... Same exact specs as mine but with P2 Package instead of P1.

And the loaner was so much quieter with absolutely no rattling and creaking noises from door panels or rear... So I am not too sure... if the Service Center comes back with no solution again.

I also have that noise issue coming from all door panels. I also still have noise issue (clicking noise) from driver seat. I went dealership more than 4 times and I am still having issues. I could hear noise coming from door panels when i had drive test with mechanic but what they response is they could not reproduce the noise which i could hear loud and well in passenger seat. Also window issue. When i try to close the dirver side window it goes up and goes all the down. They told me they fixed it but still having issue. I really am upset that mercedes made cars worst than hyundai. I drove genesis 2017 and it was so much quite than e300 and s400. My family is driving merceds for years and years. I was big fan of mercedes and i am not anymore. I read the article that mercedes designed the vehicles to not produce any noises at any circumstances and they have failed. Best or nothing? NOTHING. Please update what happened after and if you solved the issue.

LI18.00-P-066897 AUG17 – 213 AMG howling noise or vibrations present in vehicle interior in rpm range of 2000-3000 rpm when vehicle is stationary or traveling up to approx. 50 km/h, coolant/oil lines may be in contact with front axle carrier.

LI91.12-P-066989 AUG17 – 213 with load through seats (287) rattling noise between rear seat and body shell, install felt strips to catch or joint at rear shelf

There was a thread I saw awhile back that mentioned door rattling. It ended up being a cable inside the door panel that would vibrate against the inside of the door panel. I can't find it though. The fix was to tape it down IIRC

Hey Joshg1001, sorry to pull this up after 7 years, but I am having the exact problem on both of my front doors. If I go on a rough road that is not asphalt I hear rattle and if I press on any part of the door panel, the sound stops. I went to a local mechanic and they weren't able to find where the sound was coming from. Were you able to figure out what the problem was? Lmk Thank!.
