So I'm trying to order a new 2017 E300 with the P03 options, additional 12' screen, air ride and panorama top. I am being told by my dealer that Mercedes has a shortage on the roof and they are unable to submit my order until a valid slot can be secured with a roof. Has anyone else been told a similar story?

 

not on the roof but on the P3 pkg delayed to 1st decade of mar for a may delivery

 

I changed my order a week ago adding the pano roof resulting in a delay but still on track for early April.

 

Am experiencing extended delay, not because of roof, but other items (luxury model w/ P3, 12.3 instrument cluster, etc). Order submission delayed 2 mos. After submission, further delays being experienced for other unexplained reasons.

That's how I imagine it would feel waiting for a special order. The first decade of March.

 

Well waiting 4 months seems to be somewhat of bad supply chain management from a prestigious car company. When do the 18's come out

I've seen press on models even after 2018...maybe its a ponzi scheme!

 

There is a delay because of the pano roof.

My E300 was ordered October 15th for a November 10th build. It was not built until December 9th.

It was then late to arrive at the port in Germany. Late to be loaded onto the vessel. The ship began its voyage late. Arrived at the Baltimore port 3 days late. And it took almost a week to clear customs. Another 5 days for a car carrier to be assigned.

I am told it arrived at the dealer this Wednesday (yesterday) and should be delivered to me on Friday.

Honestly, the frequent delays is not the dealers fault (at least from what I can tell) but it was a big inconvenience to me. Be prepared for delays.
