Experience with 18 inch wheel with run-flat tires?
Ordered a W213 with 18" wheels back in Dec with March manufacturing date.
This week, my sales rep. informed me that due to manufacturing capacity, the wheels will be run-flat tires.
I know the benefits of run-flat tires, but the downside is rougher ride.
Does anyone have actual experience with W213 and 18" run-flat tires?
Would the ride be too harsh?

The new generation of runflats are significant more compliant (softer) than those runflats 5 years ago. I have 19 runflats and the car rides great.
Also, your saleman is wrong. All E300s have runflats from the very beginning of model introduction.

OK, thanks.
I'm not in the states, so the w213 here have normal tires as default, except ones with AMG package. And we only get E250, no E300

What is great ride quality for some, is less than acceptable to others. The bottom line is that any car will have a more compliant, more comfortable, more quiet ride quality on a set of high quality, conventional tires than it will on run flat tires, all other things being equal.
When I ordered my 2015 S550 sedan, I negotiated, up front, for the dealer to swap out the standard RFT for my choice of conventional tires. The car is a non-sport model with 18" wheels. I took delivery of the car with the RFT and drove it that way for about 500 miles. As you might imagine, the ride was very good. I then brought the car in and had Bridgestone Serenity Plus conventional tires put on. The ride quality improved significantly. The RFT SCREAMED as I drove on the freeway, while the conventional tires are virtually silent. I bought a compact spare wheel/tire and a jack and I feel it's the only way to go.

Mine has 19 and rft and has a very good ride. Comparable to, if not better, than my old w212 with 17 inch conventional tyres. However I had a loaner w213 with 17 inch conventional tyres and it was butter smooth, noticeably better over minor road imperfections. Trade off was softer/slower turn in. Overall I'm glad I got the 19s for look and some sporty feel, if not actual impoundment in grip though I do wish they weren't run flat.
