Apple CarPlay integration question (Premium 3)

Hi all,

So I tried doing some searches on here and the google machine but couldn't find anything concerning my question.

Does Apple CarPlay integrate fully with the instrument cluster and HUD? I've been reading that Apple Maps has gotten markedly better, but feel like I would be missing out on the cluster/HUD integration that the COMAND maps has. Also curious if Podcasts, Music and the like pop up on the instrument cluster as well.

I believe it only shows on the right screen. The instrument cluster on mine shows "Carplay Active". No actual data. I have the 12.3 inch cluster screen.

Blech. That stinks, was really hoping to have all that stuff customizable on the 12.3 cluster. Thanks for the reply!

I know. It would be nice if it was better integrated. Unfortunately Apple had to build it for the masses, so we get the single screen.

I read somewhere (can't remember where) that there were some cars that allowed CarPlay data on the dashboard and that's what led to this question. I guess I always assumed it was part of it without really thinking about it. Maybe we'll get lucky with an update someday...doubtful, but hopeful.
