Turn your 2017 E300's ride into a ride like an S550

Has anyone else swapped out their stock RF tires for a non RF tire? Looking to see if others share the opinion of the OP and Streamliner on the significant improvement in ride quality. I understand the trade offs associated with giving up RF tires; I'm only interested in opinions on ride quality.
For perspective: I'm coming from a rough-riding 2014 435. I just ordered my E for its smooth ride and would be willing to spend the extra $ to enhance the experience. My E was spec'd with air body control and 18s (I couldn't get over the 17" twin five spokes that come with the luxury trim).

The dealer had the PSI all jacked up when I took delivery and yes my E300 ride was quite rough. After reducing the PSI to the 32/32 as suggested on the gas cap door there was a noticeable improvement in ride quality. Don't get me wrong, not entirely the same as good non RF tires, but a compromise I was satisfied with.

After owning a 2017 E300-4matic that felt like riding in a Ford F-150, I had finally had enough and after owning the. E300-4matic for a little over a month I spoke to my service manager and a rep from Michelin they both pretty much said the same thing. If I really wanted my E300 to ride more like a luxury sedan, something akin to an S550, they both said the same thing, I should seriously consider different tires. My E300-4matic came with 225/55xR17. V97. ET40(offset), Goodyear Eagle Sport MOE Runflat tires. Aside like providing a ride like a dump truck these next generation Runflat tires went a whole month before they picked up a screw that was to close to the sidewall to be repaired, of course that can happen to any tire.
After narrowing my choices down between the Michelin Primacy and the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+, I went with the ladder and the difference in the ride was like day and night. The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3+ Was as smooth as silk. As almost no cars come with spare tires I had already decided to buy a fifth tire and a fifth factory new wheel so that having a Runflat tire was irrelevant and in the event of a flat I'd have a real spare tire that I could just put on and continue my trip.
After spending about $57,000 spending another $600 on a real spare tire was fine with me.
So, to all those W213 buyers who's cars come with runflat tires, if you want your car to have a luxury Ride do yourself a favor and ditch the Goodyear Runflat tires and get yourself the Michelins I went with or Pirelli has just come out with a new all season touring type radial tire and give yourself a luxury car ride.
An E class car is a high line luxury car and if you want an E class car that you want to take to the track, than buy yourself an AMG E43 and drive the hell out of it. But if you want an E class that rides like a luxury car, spring for another $500 to $1,000 and change out those tires and you'll really enjoy your E.

Just my $.02.
I just came out of a 2016 E350 4matic with non run flat Michelins. Before that I had a 2013 BMW 535i xDrive with RF. The Mercedes with non RF was much smoother and quieter.
In December I replaced the E350 4Matic with a 2019 E450 with Pirelli RF. I have already taken two long trips: one 280 miles the other 550 miles. . To me the ride is smoother and quieter than the E350. Perhaps it would be even quieter with non RF, but you are already talking about one of the quietest cars on the road.
To me the extra expense of swapping out 4 RF for 4 non RF plus a spare, which I assume is well over $1000, is not worth the money - but it may be to others whose ears are more sensitive than mine.
So far more than satisfied with the Pirelli RF.

Question - did these tires also improve the road noise? I purchased a 2017 E300 4-matic (the sport version) and it SOOO loud in comparison to my ML350. I do hope you tell me the tires will help a lot with this - just a lot of road problems - the ride and noise for me.
I’m 4 days on winter wheels now. 18 inch with Michelin XIce3’ non RFT. SO, SO, SO much better!! Quieter, smoother, softer, even better steering feel.
I’ll be planning on summer Non RFT’s when spring shows up.

Test drive an E450. The V6 BiTurbo is silky smooth, powerful and quiet. At 70 mph, the revs are about 1600. No fuss no bother -truly a luxury car and better than 30 mpg!

I have an E300 with Hankook Venturi Arun flats and I find them surprisingly quiet and smooth. In fact one of the smoothest rides that I have had.
I just came form and Infiniti M35 on Michelin Primacy tires and it rides 10 times better than that (but a lot is probably the car I would guess)
