W213 Engine Swop
Is it possible to swop the engine in a E200 for the new inline 6 or the old 5.5 V8?
The new inline 6 is a mild hybrid and the motor is in the gearbox. The 5.5l wasn’t mated with the 9G-Tronic to my knowledge so I’m not sure if that’d work without replacing the tranny as well.
In general what other engines wouldn’t be overally complex to fit in the W213 E200 or E220d? (for a future project)

You'd have to ask your dealer, but I highly doubt it. It would likely cost more than you could imagine and Mercedes wouldn't likely even consider selling you the engine. Not to mention the complete reprogramming of most if not all electrical systems in the car. There would like be suspension changes required too. Plus I would imagine the car is registered with the engine in the car and that would be very difficult to change with governmental agencies. Your insurance company would have to reevaluate the cost of insurance too.

I don’t think he’s worried about insurance where he lives. And depending on import taxes I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s more cost effective to mod your car after fact than it is to find the car you actually want. I know that’s true for Egypt.

Yeah I’m not so worried about insurance at the moment. It’s not about the import taxes. I’m just thinking of having something very understated on the outside (with the exclusive/elegance line grill etc) but with an AMG engine underneath.

I think your going to run into some fitmen and clearance issues. Do some measuring of the motor and engine bay. I think your going to pay up to get this done. It might not be a simple swap.
Why not buy the older E550? Will cost you a heck of a lot less, those you can buy for less then 30k

If you're serious, go to a custom car builder and tell them what you want. They can put most anything in there and make it look stock, all they need is a blank check. Expect to spend >$100K to have it done and not be able to tell it's not stock.
I agree with the others, sell your car and buy something closer to what you want, you'll also be in the drivers seat a lot faster.
