Wire connected in the far left slot on the pink connector, then you place the fuse in the same slot once the pink connector is assembled in the housing.

Hey Vic,
did you have to swap the star emblem from the previous base unit to the illuminated one? Or did the illuminated unit come with the star?
Further I would like know when the star is always illuminated. Is it just depending on the Coming home/leaving home selected timing?
Thanks for your help.

The star assembly is one unit including base, just snap out the old one and in with the illuminated unit.
When connecting the star according to my instructions it will light up as long as the ignition stays on.

I've found the base without the star badge on eBay. I believe that's noch the one you assembled right?

In this Video it's shown that at least the star can be dismantled from the old base unit. So I am wondering why the old star wont fit on the illuminated base?

Because the star is supposed to protrude equally from the base, and as the ligting fixture is around 3-4mm thick, that need to be deducted from the star

Hey Vic, amazing wagon , love the color with the rims! Just curious, do you plan on doing any perfomance mods? If so, what and by who? Thanks much, just got my E400 coupe yesterday, jumped the Lexus ship and I’m cruise high now

Thanks, I really wish I could afford a 400 but I had to settle with an oil burner instead, I run a 220d with the new OM654 engine, it is tuneable but I havnt done anything to it just yet.

Hello VicViper....and greetings from sunny (and humid) Florida. Your "wagon" looks amazing. I have always loved wagons!
Saw your titanium lug bolts, and want to add titanium lug bolts to my W213 sedan. There is a company here in the US that makes them for many cars, including Mercedes.....however, they do not have the wheel locking bolt for Mercedes. For anyone who is interested, here is the link: https://www.acerracing.com/ACERLug_Titanium_Lug_Nuts_Bolts-128-1.html...........titanium tends to be expensive, but Acer Lug bolts are excellent quality, and a reasonable price. (I have them on my Porsche, with the locks). I won't get them for my Mercedes until Acer offers the locking lug bolts. (I like my AMG wheels, and want to keep them!).
Perhaps if enough people ask Acer about titanium locks for the Mercedes wheels, they will consider making them.

Any idea where I need to connect it to if I only want the star to light up when my headlights come on?

Got the illuminated star fitted tonight, feel free to follow my instructions but please dont buy any chinese made crap,
buy the star unit and wiring harness from your dealer!
Star unit: A2138179800
Harness: A2058204400
Route the harness towards this box, lift the plastic cover above it for access.
Connect the ground connector to the ground point at the left front member ( follow the brown wires)
Push in the tabs and lift the front fusebox up, find the pink connector and loosen it downwards.
Drill a hole in the fuse box outer housing.
Route the cable through the hole and connect the crimped connector in the far left slot in the pink connector housing.
Reassemble and fit a 2 or 3A fuse in the new slot
Done, a 10-15 minute job!

W213 Night Edition 220d. (ML250 SLK350AMG)
Do you think the updated steering wheel could be fitted? I see that the navigation screen (home) looks a bit different. is this just different software or an all together new computer system??

had my 220d a couple of months now in a 4matic estate with air suspension. I asked about the comparison to the old 250d in a c and you said i would not notice much difference. You are right this engine with the 9gtronic is an improvement over the 250 with the 7g. Just occasionally when joining the motorway i miss the add 100nm of torque the 250d had but i am happy with compromise given the fuel consumption and co2 emissions and am really pleased with the e. Its the best car i have ever owned but at the price it should be!

any suggestions on wiring the illuminating star for my 2019 GLC300 4matic.
Hello, I was wondering if you had any suggestions on wiring the illuminating star for my 2019 GLC300 4matic? It looks like I have a slightly different fuse box than you and I only have the brown wire on the pink connector. I have included in the attached pdf file the fuse box diagram and highlighted the fuses I'm currently using. Any direction would be appreciated.
