Key Fob Not Detected

Hello

This morning I got in my E300 and I tried to start it, but the car said key fob not detected. Has anyone found a way to fix this (besides getting the second key) or get around it? If I remember correctly, I think there is somewhere to insert the key if it is not working correctly?

I would take it to my local dealership but I do not have time this week.

Good morning. I do not have my new car yet, but I have seen in the videos that there is a slot on the right-hand side of the place where one can charge one's phone, in the front console, where the key can be inserted. I hope this solves your problem. With all best wishes!

Try to keep key away from your phone too, not in same pocket. Helps me get reliable keyless unlocking/locking.

Unusual issue however. Try a new battery before you drive it to the dealer. Another thing that can interfere with the FOB is your cell phone.

Thanks and I scheduled to bring it in on Friday since they are giving me a loaner (hopefully they don't turn on their word) and I told them to also do whatever software updates it may need because my navi and radio lags quite a bit. Also I'm going to have them check the windows because I think my rear windows go down slightly when opening and closing the doors so much.

I will provide an update on what ends up happening.

Thanks for that, I found a few other TSB's that need to be addressed as well which I will tell the dealership about. I am making a list currently for all the stuff they need to fix/check out.

Well, I ended up waiting at the dealership for about an hour and had to reschedule my appointment because they could not provide a loaner vehicle. When I made the appointment I specifically stated I need a loaner and was assured by the lady I made my appointment with that I would have one. So Monday should be the day, I will provide an update later on.

UPDATE:

I brought my E300 in this morning and was provided a GLC300 loaner. They said it would be maybe a week because I gave them a list of stuff to check out along with the key fob not working.

Heres an Update.

The dealership had my car for a week to check out the key (and various other issues I noticed) and they could not find any error codes or anything wrong with the key. They did updates to the car so maybe the update fixed it and then they tried the key? Who knows but so far its been working since I got it back this morning.

My 2016 e220d w213 was solved this problem by moving out the (+) (positive) socket of the main battery out
and put it back again. Then I could start my car again and also the warning message was disappeared.

a few times now i could not open the car as it did not detect the key in my pocket.
i had to unlock with the key itself which worked fine

it's like the key has put itself in off mode (which you normally do by clicking "lock" quickly 2 times)

i though it might be a sign that the battery is getting weak, but then again,
the key works fine to open & close manually and als have no problem with starting the car…

already reset the key by taking out the battery, but problem still occurs every now & then.

any thoughts?

Did disconnecting the battery cause any other issues such as window and sunroof calibration etc.? I'm having this same issue, leery of disconnecting battery because of these concerns.
