The sport is a better one, the luxury model I have a loaner. suspension and ride feel is not much different. The w212 also had drilled brakes and no brake dust. I think its the rims affecting the aerodynamic of the dust being sucked out.

I had the w212 before the w213, sport model on both. The brake dust was the same due to the semi-metallic compounds of the brake pads, and the cast-iron rotors. I evenutally put akebono's on the cast-iron rotors, and noticed the brake dust was thin, and a lot less darker in color than the OEM pads. However, I would not recommend Akebono's for a spirited ride because when the brakes get hot, the stopping power was greatly faded.

Re: Brake Dust--Had prior year M-B Model E's and the dust was really heavy. Now have a 2017 E300 (luxury) and the dust I've noticed so far (1000 miles driven) is very minimal. I don't know the reason for the change, but it is welcomed.

Wish I had the luxury package.. I believe the rotors are not perforated (drilled) on your car.

Cross drilled rotors will not increase brake dust.

I thought brake dust became much lower once JD Power started asking new car buyers about brake dust in their initial quality surveys, which I believe was around 4 years ago. Nonetheless, I would suggest Akebono ceramic brake pads, if they are available for your car. I have them on my wife's E350 wagon, and they produce nearly zero dust and no noise or other undesirable effects.

If Akebono is not available, try PowerStop, which is also low dust.

Applied Gtechiq C5 Wheel Armour during my initial detailing of the car. I only have 1,200 mile on the car so far, but this is easily the most effective product I have ever used to keep wheels clean. My wagon has the 19" wheel package.

NO brake dust/iron accumulation period. Sort of freaked me out, especially for a German car. Washed the car yesterday, and just used a pressure washer and a wet sponge to clean them. Have not had to use any heavy duty wheel cleaner such as Sonax or P21S gel.

Definitely worth the small effort.
