I did it... it took about an hour and saved me nearly $400 in labor costs.. everything was just about a breeze. The only issues were with removing the part were the clock is and the ashtray lid ..
correction that is the gloss ash brown... the matte is theNatural Grain Brown Ash Wood Center Console... they also have the Burl Walnut Wood which is also glossy... are you sure your vehicle has the brown ash or is it the burl walnut... if you don't mind I would need your vin to get the accurate trim

ok just spoke with MB parts advisor the part # for Glossy ASH BROWN center console is 257-680-03-01 its interchangable with 2018-2020 Eclass and 2019 and up CLS
I am looking for the glossy burl walnut but I see it as discontinued on MB’s website. Do you have the link where I can purchase it?
if your looking for the E class burl walnut trim center console the part # is 213-680-39-07. Theres only 7 available in the United States. The cheapest one I could find was $496 way cheaper than $990 I got quoted for.

Great, thank you. Just ordered. Is there a separate part number for the console lid? I have the 2017 E300 Luxury model with Nappa brown interior. Any way to get the part number for this steering wheel with Distronic and the new column without Distronic. The column would also have the steering wheel up/down control. Also new style LED vents from the coupe?

The ashtray lid comes with the console.. I can get the steering wheel part # but im not sure if its compatible with the 17. because I believe you would have to change airbags and other things like if its heated or not

I would need the airbag as well as the column controls since my car has the Distronic on the column not the steering wheel. I don’t have heated steering wheel unfortunately
I want the gloss burl walnut. I see part 2136806007 is discontinued. Is 213-680-39-07 a replacement? @kingscorpian27 did you get yours? epc http://mbepc.net/1/fg/e/j21/213222/0/68/260/#gsc.tab=0 shows lots of options for these consoles, but I thought it was just a matter of finding the wood you wanted.

I received mine but it was slightly damaged in shipping. I should have the replacement in a couple weeks. I will provide the part number once I receive it
Thanks so much for this helpful information. Could you tell me more about how you removed the cover on the ashtray/cup holder door? I am having a hard time removing it, and I don't want to break the door.

Coming from a S205 with the open pore black ash center console I also wanted it in my E.
A few months ago the E-Coupé arrived and the problem was solved, I ordered a panel immidiately and it arrived today.
Here is how you do it
Tools needed, small flat head screwdriver and a Torx 20 screwdriver
Remove the rubber grommets hiding the two screws, remove them and pull the armrest locking mechanism backwards.
Remove the two exposed screws, then lift and fold the panel upwards
Unplug the black and the white connectors below
Now pull the panel slightly down and backwards from its top fitting, lift the entire panel and place it to the side on your lap.
Disconnect the connectors to the 12V socket, media panel, AC-panel, keyless antenna module, analog clock and the two LED-modules for the ambient lighting, they just snap right out.
Now remove all the stuff from the old panel, touch pad module, ashtray compartment, media panel and the AC-panel
The touch pad is fastened with four screws, the ashtray compartment with just two, they are easy to spot and remove.
The AC and media panels are just snapped into place, use the flat head screw driver to bend the tabs holding the units, then remove the units from the back.
The lid to the ashtray compartment is just slid onto place, pull it firmly backwards and it snaps off.
Assemble in reverse order and it should look something like this, note the Mercedes-Benz microfibre cloth
Part number for this specific panel is A238 680 15 03, that is open pore black ash with ambient illumination,
they should exist in all the other different finishes, however I am not sure of this, remember that panels without ambient illumination, analog clock and so on has different part numbers.
Do you guys know any reliable site to buy the parts from? I would love to change mine but my experience with ebay was not pleasant. As the items turn out to be not OEM.
