Frayed seat stiching
I noticed that the stitching on the driver seat's outside bolster starts to fray. I can see fine threads coming loose and light scrubbing on a small area of the leather in the same vicinity. It seems that my belt or the rear belt loop consistently rubs the bolster when I enter the car.
I have the upgraded massage/vented leather seats and and prefer them without seat covering. However, without some kind of protection, the bolster will look worn out comparing to the rest of the seat - And I have this car for just 9 months. I've been contorting myself but that just shifts the the wear and tear to other spots. I guess I can push the seat back a couple of inches when I exit the car, but that would detract so much from the the experience of driving this fine automobile. What would you recommend?
Thanks

when i took possession of my new 2017 E300 about a month ago (same options as the OP), i noticed the stitching on the left hand side of the driver's seat was coming apart. made a note of it on the predelivery inspection and they ordered a new seat cover and replaced it. not exactly wear and tear but poor workmanship (which is dissapointing coming from MB)

I have no issue with getting out. Entering the car is the difficult part. The combination of a busted left knee and a lowered car is not a good one! On the good days, I'd stick my right foot in the foot-well first, get hold of the steering wheel, then slide in side way. On other days, I plant both feet outside the car, get hold of the steering wheel, slide in back first, then turn facing the front of the car. Either way, some part of my hip or back brushes the bolster right at the seam. We all built differently, so this problem doesn't affect everyone. I've been pondering the seat cover route, but the ones I saw all seem out of place in the E300. Beside, I haven't checked to see if there's any built-in airbag.

The Seats are terrible. My Car is in the Shop as we speak for the same issue plus some annoying noises coming from the seat. The side bolster is so worn out as if the car had 200 000 miles on it.It has nothing to do with clothing but very cheap materials used to build the seat. There is no way that after a few thousand miles you should see any wear on the seats,it looks used up,the leather has fine cracks...Unbelievable.My E55 was 7 Years old with over 100 000 k miles on the clock and the seats were like brand new...

I've read the same thing and have been diligent in cleaning/conditioning the leather surfaces. Yet the bolster starts to show stress lines, deep creases, and fraying appearance. For the record, I don't throw myself in the seat and use the E300 with care.

My car was in the shop 2 weeks ago (I lost counts in the last 9 months) to have the fan under the seat swapped out. The spinning blades made contact with the cushion every time the occupant shifted around.

I had a loaner that had 6K miles and the stitching was also coming apart at the top left corner. So disappointed to hear its happening so many cars.

Nope, I haven't. It comes on semi rough and porous roads and its a loud rattle. In addition (or maybe its the same one), there is a rattle coming from the center storage bin.
