W213 Dash Cam issues

Hi All -

New E220 and Merc owner. Like all I have some items about the car that I love and some items that baffle me

Have a Blackvue Dash Cam installed to fuse rail on passenger side with a power magic pro set to 6 hours for park mode. The issue is the power to the fuse box is being stopped at 2 hours on the button almost by the car.

Anyone had any success or know a constant power source? Odd it stays powered by car for 2 hours then stops.

While I do not have an answer, I know that members of the W205 and W212 sections have used that brand of dash cam and may be able to assist.

I have a 212. don't have a magic pro anymore, bu i used to hook it up in the rear
fusebox.

but even in the front i imagine you must be able to find a fuse which
stays on all the time..?

I know for the w212 there's a small fuse box on the driver side next to lighting switch and vents that have constant power. The w213 should have something similar.

I hardwired my camera in yesterday and only wanted it to be turned on with ignition. Totally failed to find one that isn't permanent. Opposite issue to you.

Anyway, my car is right hand drive so this may or may not work for. I used, from memory, fuse 307 which is in passenger footwell fuse box, 5amp and is supposed to be one of the hundreds that are provided for the radio. (On the row for me, going from top to bottom, there was some 30amp fuses, a 5 amp,a another 30 amp then a gap. Then two
5amps and two 30amps at bottom. I used the bottom 5amp fuse}.

On my car, that fuse stays on forever. I forgot to take camera off the mount and it was left on at work all work. Kept recording all day!

Hope it helps you.

Can you pls tell us what fuse number you tapped into in the passenger footwell that gave you two hours of power? I would like that info for my radar detector install. Thx,
