Laggy nav system

Has anyone else noticed how laggy/jerky the nav system is. I have the full digital screen option so hoping it's not the hardware that is the issue, and a software update will fix that.

I also feel the address entering system is awful compared to my previous 2015 c-class.

Sorry if there is already a thread on this

Mine was terrible till a software update helped get it to tolerable levels. It's still sluggish but I can live with it now. My car is over a year old now so came with what felt like alpha standard software. Used to take 5+ seconds to switch between media and nav pages. That's down to maybe 2 seconds now, sometimes less. Still rubbish compared to any vaguely half decent phone and I'm sure the system is grossly underpowered for the amount of pixels is throwing around. Looks lovely though!

If your car was built in the last few months you've probably got the same software build as I've got so don't hold your breath for any significant improvements.

I wouldn't rely on the navigation software being up to date when your car is delivered.

I checked mine the day I got it and found I needed to download a system and map update (you can do that in Europe). The downloads are big and take some time to upload to the car so there is some incentive for a "busy" dealer not to bother...

I am finding the navigation system to be okay so far.

Its definitely not a hardware issue, mine is superbly fast. It must be an issue with early software build issue.

Interesting to know then, once the system has been switched on for a couple minutes (mine is dog slow to start with) what sort of lag do you get switching between nav screen and media/radio using console switches? Like I said before mine can take a fair while to switch. Zoom in map is at 400 yards in case that makes a difference (guess it's got to draw more each time).

No lag at all. Its all basicly instantaneous. The only thing that eve lags is the weather map and thats because its cell based. All other features are bang bang bang.

Thanks. Mine goes back to the dealer again soon (steering column has stuck in top position, been sticking for a while but has given up totally now) so I'll ask them to look at it for software updates as well.

You probably have a point but I think you are pushing too hard this one message. Starts to be frustrating to see the same reminder everywhere. One message per topic should be enough.
