Brand new E300 control mal-function after 2 weeks of ownership

Hi,

So I had amazing deal on 2017 E300 which I couldn't possibly pass, and to my surprise on Mercede, there came mal-function on COMAND button on center console.

while I was driving and had to make a quick stop at the gas station, I noticed that none of the COMAND button worked, which was fine just a morning ago.

start-stop button
pwer rear window
damper control
return button
home button

basically all of the buttons were not working, and more so, the engine start and stop button was not properly working in which I had to press mutiple times to get the car engine shut off or on.

having feared for even more trouble, I went straight to dealer and explained what it was, they took it in for diagnostic and a week later I am still without my E300.

they explained that this was rare issue and they are reaching Mercede headquarter to see what the next step should be as they weren't sure what the issues are.. I just spoke with they last night and they say it looks like it''ll take another few days before they can start to work on the car.

Now I am debating if this is something I can claim against Mercede for the extended loss of use on less than month of getting it, or if trouble continues to escalate, and request change of car or file a suit under Lemon Law or something...

very frustration and I really enjoyed all new E class and this happens two weeks into it..

Has anyone had issue something similar to mine where COMAND butter did not work ? if so, can you share your experience and the outcome please ?

Any advise would help.

thank you !

Didn't they provide you with a loaner?

yeah, C class loaner. but that's not the point.

only two weeks into getting new car, it breaks down with some rare-issue in which they are not even sure what exactly the issues are.
And even comes back fully fixed, who knows it'll mal-function again ?

I maybe too far ahead but Im expecting worse and trying to see what would be good solution to resolve..

if at worse Mercede does half-*** job on fixing it properly, I want to see if I can request to replace vehicle or not.

I had an issue with my 2017 E300 the day I picked it up new - the dealer brought a loaner to my house, took care of it and the car has literally been perfect since then. As long as the dealer takes care of you, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

You should get a loaner that is equal or better than the car being serviced. That is how my dealer operates.
