Found the perfect solution!
Protect it with Meguiars ultimate spray wax! It keeps fingerprints and is superbly simple to apply. Given that this is the only thing I can use on my matte paint finish (with fabulous results), I decided to give it a try on the console. Works wonders, not only does it keep fingerprints off it also repels dust. Up to now, one whole week without having to do anything! Just glorious shine. Before "treatment" I had to clean it essentially every day. Just spray the stuff on a microfiber towel and apply. TA DA! Its also fairly good keeping brake dust off the rims but it doesn't last long in that tough environment.

To c4004matic: Thanks for the information. I just ordered a bottle of this spray wax from Amazon Prime - it ships on Monday. My biggest gripe with the center console is the constant dust that collects on the piano black finish. Every time I get in the car, I have to wipe it off with a microfiber towel. It drives me nuts! Looking forward to trying out this product!

I have been using Lemon Pledge applied to cotton cloth and wiped on the center console as well my burl Walnut trim and then buffing it out with a 3M microfiber cloth. No fingerprints, repels dust, and my wood trim glows.

I bought a bottle of Meguiars spray at WalMart for $7. It works great and is good for a touch up on the sheet metal, too.
