I have ordered my E400 with the wireless charging largely because I don't need the ashtray (smokers package is standard in Canada) and could potentially get a phone or a case to allow charging. Also I was thinking it was easier to use the usb port to get carplay rather than the centre console. I have an iphone 6 now, if I place the phone on the pad will it impact the phone? I think I read that Apple pay appears but I don't use that. I really just want a place for my phone. Will I be able to use it this way? Can the NFC charging be turned off? Any thoughts?

Yeah, it doesn't interfere at all with my phone. (iPhone 7). Its a great little holder. I suggest getting a retractable charging cable and keeping it plugged into the usb there.
