And it is official in the news today:
E400 4MATIC Sedan will feature all the standard equipment of our E300 Sedan, plus standard allwheel
drive and a 3.0 liter biturbo V6 engine producing 329hp and 354 lb-ft of torque – the same
powertrain as our E400 4MATIC Wagon. Coupled with the 9-speed 9G-TRONIC Transmission and
DYNAMIC SELECT.
The E400 4MATIC Sedan will be available as a 4MATIC only, and as with the E300 Sedan, you can
choose between the Luxury Line (167), Sport Styling (321), or AMG Line Exterior (322).

Strange MB is offering the E400 so late in the US. It's been available in Canada since Sept.,2016 but cars were held up due to certification. Many E400's were held in Halifax NS until late Feb.17.
There are going to be many PO'd customers that settled for the the E300 when told the E400 would not be available in the US and now it's here. To flip a one year old car is cost prohibitive.

Interesting. . . then there may be a path for me when the warranty runs out on my W212 E400. I couldn't go with an I4, and doubt that the E43 would be a good match for me. Will keep watching.
On second thought, the M276DELA30 engine in a W213 could be VERY interesting.

thanks. As grateful (and mad) as I am they have finally decided to include the V6, I think it being 4 matic also would have made my car a bit over my budget. Things happen for a reason.
This is probably in response to the 5 series. MB took a bet that BMW would follow suit with only 4cyl engines in the US but they didn't.

Plus is just makes sense for an E350e for few reasons.
1. EPA
2. It is already sold in Europe.
3. There is a C hybrid, GLE hybrid and S hybrid. E hybrid is just a logical addition.

an E350e was defiantly planned for the US but with the lackluster sales of the other plug in hybrids, I think MB may be rethinking their plan. However, I think Michael was referring to whether there is confirmation on the E300 with more hp

e350 will have 211 HP (gas engine) + HP 88 (electric engine)
