2017 E300 (W213) remote start issues (errors)
For all of you out there who haven't been able to confidently remote-start your W213, with the following (false) errors:
1)... because a door was unlocked
2)... because windows or sunroof were not fully shut
3)... because the fuel tank must have more than 5 gallons of fuel
4) or simply "an error has occurred"
You should go to your nearest dealership, and request for patch update "bulletin LI82.95-P-065703. This will resolve all false remote start errors and make it much more reliable when you need it.

I'm having this problem with my remote start and as of yesterday this re-program fix didn't get rid of the problem.
Now the dealer is wanting to replace all the window motors and gearing along with sensors.
To me this doesn't sound like it will fix this problem.
I just have a hard time thinking a window sensor would cause this remote phone app from working.
Has anyone else been told this is the next step to fixing this?

No dont do that before doing this......My issue was resolved.
Due to the midwest weather my windows froze frequently and threw the sensors out of whack. The window would go DOWN when I pressed the button UP. Same window would touch the top of frame(closed position) then return to midway.
Went to dealer- The fix is simply resetting the window sensor.
How to:
1.) Put the window down completely.
2.) Hold the button DOWN for 10 seconds.
3.) Hold the button UP and bring the window closed and hold for 10 seconds.
Repeat if this doesnt work the first time. I had to do it more then once before
Must be done on the driver side buttons only. Cannot be done on the non-driver window buttons
This will FIX the remote start issue of the windows/sunroof being "DOWN" or "OPEN"
