It was pretty clear that none of the 2018's and earlier would support it. No Canadian cars were ever fitted with option 362 which is the LTE module needed for Mercedes Me.

It is disappointing that there is more info/facts available on this blog than from the sales people and delivery specialists at the MB Canadian stores.

I bought my E63s here in Canada fully thinking it would have a 4G-LTE module. It even said so in the inventory ad. It says so for every E63s in inventory on MB Canada's website. After delivery I found not only do I not have a feature advertised on their website, my car can never be retrofitted.

Note the 4g-LTE at the bottom of the feature list.

If there isn't a disclaimer that says features may change, notify the advertising ombudsman in the finest possible terms.

Mercedes Me App is now available in Canada. Anyone got it working yet? I installed it it was able to pick up my car info using my VIN but I don't see any car functions in the App

MB Canada doesn't know anything.

What's clear is that MB Canada doesn't know anything. One will answer this and the other one will answer the contrary.

Worse, we've even lost usage of the MB Apps that we previously had.

With these apps, we could access weather and traffic cameras around us, among other things.

It now says that we must accept Mercedes Me terms and conditions to access these apps.

I've accepted all conditions I could find for my 2018 E-Class, and it still says I must accept these conditions.

Did you go back to dealer and ask them to active the service for you?

Mine is 2018 model, the sales person said it can get it via a software update, but then early this year, Mercedes said they can't, has to be 2019 model. So sad.

If it cannot be activated via software updates for 2018, I am even willing to pay for "Mercedes Me Adaptor" (which is available in Europe), if it allows us to get Mercedes Me working for my car.

https://www.mercedes-benz.com/en/mer...e-adapter-app/

I was looking forward to atleast ability to remote start my car in winter

My dealer said there would be no retrofit adapter available for the 2017 and 2018 model. I guess they want to sell more 2019 model instead of letting people upgrading with a small cost.

Plus the adapter would need to have access to the local 3G/4G network, the european one probably won't work in Canada.

I just found the Mercedes Me app part in the COMMAND system is useless.

Now this really pisses me off as my dealer sold me the car by giving me false information that Mercedes Me would work with my 2018 when it is released in 6 months at the time of purchase. I am going to raise this issue with my dealer but unfortunately I don't think I have any legal recourse. I made $90K+ decision trusting statements made by Mercedes dealer

I know. Same here.

There is no official video in Canada about the W213 E class features, we only can guess and listen to whatever on the website or from the sales person. Who is going to record every conversation including phone calls with the sales.

Same here. No more MBApps.

Same problem here. No more access to MBApps to which I had access until recently, and even had on my 2015 C300. This is a shame.

2019 E450
I bought a 2018 E400 in May. At the time of the purchase I was assured by both the salesman and the “delivery specialist” that the vehicle had live traffic and all I needed was a Sirius traffic subscription. As many others have discovered the 2018’s (and others I believe) in Canada cannot get live traffic from any source. This was my fourth E series car but I was pretty pissed off about the misrepresentation.

i contacted the dealership GM who originally assured me that my car could get live traffic but after some investigation he obviously came to the same conclusion as all of us. He was very apologetic about the misrepresentation and said that if the Mercedes Me features could not be retrofitted to my car he would “make it easy” for me to get a 2019 car.

As many have learned retrofitting is not an option so I picked up a 2019 E450 yesterday. The GM was true to his word and I was very pleased with the deal.

The new car is the same color and has the same options as the old one but of course comes with the 2019 “goodies”

Well, I just got off the phone with Mercedes Customer Support here in Canada and the gentleman told me that our 2018 E-400 will never be able to have the Mercedes Me capability. Canadian delivery vehicles were not designed or equipped with the necessary components to support the Me applications so I was told. This is a huge disappointment for us as we made our decision to buy this vehicle with the promise that this feature (and one other feature as well) would become available later after we took delivery of the vehicle just last fall. I feel that we were lied to. Now customer support was telling me that Mercedes Corp. never promised that this feature would become available and I cannot remember if the online advertising ever stated in writing if this feature was supported for the 2018 E-class sedans. Anyone remember if they saw any literature about this online or anywhere else? I any case, we are very unhappy with Mercedes Benz and the dealership where we bought the vehicle. We traded a 2017 Audi A-4 for the E-400...should of stayed with the Audi.

We've even lost MB Apps.

With Mercedes Me, we've even lost MB Apps (weather and traffic cameras, etc) that had been available in MB Cars. I had it in my 2015 C300 and in my 2018 E300 until Mercedes Me happened. This is a shame.

NO WIRELESS CARPLAY ... EVER ...

I guess MB won't give us Wireless CarPlay in our cars either, even though we already have WiFi and Bluetooth. Too much trouble, I guess ...

This would allow me use the QI Charger that's included in my 2018 E300 with my iPhone, instead of having to plug the phone every time I get in the car to be able to use Google Maps and Waze.

I won't waste my time asking them about it ...

See post #23 of this year for written MB Canada website statement which is still posted. In my case MB Markham & MB Whitby had been forthcoming telling me NO availability on 2018 models since I started shopping for my car in 2017. Unless you have something in writing that you can stand your ground on I am not sure you have any recourse based on verbal statements from a car salesman.
