Parking Pilot Issue

Hello,

I noticed when trying to use the parking pilot to look for a perpendicular spot, it does not give me the option to reverse park into the parking spot anymore. Does anyone know a fix for this, or if Mercedes removed this feature with a software update?

Thanks

Hell, I'd be happy if my parking pilot actually worked and found a space more often Never seems to work.

Mine is good at picking up parallel parking spots with a car on each side but not when there is a car on one side and a curb on the other.

With perpendicular spots, it seems it cant pick them up anymore and on the rare occasion that it does, it will not give me the option to reverse park the car.

Are you using it close enough from the car? Someone complained that it hardly works at 1 metre distance (I think the manual mentions a couple of metres).

Have not tried it myself, wife's car does not have it.

What i meant was i was unable to register the car in the remoter park app.

but fixed it now:

I deleted the Bluetooth connection between the car & my phone
(ie in iPhone clicked "forget this device" under bluetooth settings),
and then i reconnected by letting the car find the phone.

once that was done i was able to connect the remote pilot app.

but not sure if it was just a tempore bug or whether it was the above that fixed it...

My Parking Pilot says it is scanning for parking spots but, in three months of periodic attempts, it has never found a single one -- despite being surrounded by available spots each time. Am I doing something wrong or it is simply broken?

There could be something wrong with your system. I know on mine it works great for parallel parking spots (only when there is s spot between two cars, not when there is a space between a car and a curb). Also the perpendicular parking spots it finds them most of the time but it does not give me the option to reverse park. I used to be able to reverse park using parking pilot but lately, it has not given me the option.

Unfortunately in the States that feature is not available. When I first heard about that I was excited to try it out, but the dealership told me it would not be enabled on US cars.

out of interest, was your subscription included when you got the car or did you have to pay for a license to use remote parking? I had to buy one which was irritating given that virtually everything else is free for 3 years.

The online manual for the 2018 E400 on the MBUSA web page includes instructions for the remote parking pilot. The online manual for the 2018 E63 on the MBUSA web page does not include the instructions for the remote parking pilot. I was hopeful this was an indication that my new E400 coupe would have it. But, I have been advised it will not, unfortunately. Still not available here in the USA.

I got a new 2018 E400 coupe yesterday. I was looking through the manual in the car's Command system. I was surprised to see Remote Parking Pilot instructions there, including instructions on pairing a phone for Remote Parking Pilot.
Is this information present in 2017 E Class Command systems?
Or is it's presence in the 2018 E400 coupe an indication that Remote Parking Pilot is, or will be, available in 2018 E400 coupes in the USA?
Thanks!

i have a PDF for 2017 american/canadian cars and it does not mention remote park
(Where as the french hardcopy that came with my car does)

IF they make it available on the US 2018 model i guess with an update they could
unblock it on older cars as well.

I tried it yesterday in my car park and must say it's pretty impressive... useless, but impressive :-)

I remember back in 2016 they would show the remote parking pilot a lot and they made it look like one of the key features. Looking back all those ads and promo videos were all European spec and what not. Also, I do not think they will unblock the feature for the 2017 E class but who knows. Hopefully, they can do something because I really like the thought of being able to pull my car out of the parking spot if its a tight squeeze.

In the driving assistance section, this document mentions Remote Parking Pilot for the US.

Interesting they say it will be introduced in a later model year. So my guess is that it will get here by 2020 and that the 2017's and 2018's won't be getting it.

Very interesting. And still unclear if it will eventually be activated in all E300s retroactively.

This doc also suggests that there are virtually no changes to the 2018 model over the 2017 model, save a few trim additions and options package shuffling.

.
There are two separate and distinct features - Remote Park Pilot and Remote Parking Pilot. IIRC the US gets the latter while Europe gets the former.

i'm pretty sure its "parking pilot" (car parks itself while in the car) and "remote parking pilot" (parking car with phone while ouside)

Sorry, I confused the 2016 Remote Parking Pilot (W212) with the 2017 Park Pilot. Park Pilot was only offered in Europe for MY17 (W213). On my MY18 order it is called P47 Parking Pilot and 235 Active Parking Assistance. The word "remote" is not in any of the descriptions.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is gaining a lot of attention as being the closest in the industry to full automation. It drives, monitors, and parks, all by itself. What Mercedes-Benz failed to mention is that the United States version will not come with all the same technologies right away. One of these technologies is Mercedes-Benz Benz PARK PILOT.
